Well, what a busy weekend that has been! Saturday 23rd March saw the Uxbridge and District World Scout Jamboree candidates on their quest to add to their mountainous task to raise £4000 to attend the World Scout Jamboree 2019 in West Virginia in just over 4 months time.

PA systems are always great when they work but, this time in the Uxbridge Community centre no such luck and up stepped yours truly with over 25 years of honed scout voice to be the quiz master, with the Explorer scouts keeping my voice in tip top condition with the endless supply of… ‘Coffee!’

With the help of the volunteers setting up and my wife Sacha catering for 100 people, and Hummingbird Bakery graciously supplying some cakes for the event we all managed to raise just over £1000! a fantastic amount I’m sure you’ll agree.

Yesterday (24th March) saw out district celebrating the achievements of our young people, from Beavers, through Cubs, Scouts and Explorers and even leaders, in achieving the top awards they are able to within their sections throughout this past year, with the help of our District Youth Commissioner Lucy, we presented:

Beavers with their Bronze Chief Scout’s award,
Cubs with their Silver Chief Scout’s Award,
Scouts with their Gold Chief Scout’s award,
Explorers with their Platinum and Diamond Chief Scout’s award.

We also were able to present Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards to our Scouts and Explorers.

And I am really proud to say that we also awarded the Explorer Belt to Lucy and Sean who are now some of our up and coming leaders and the highest award available to be earned was awarded to Lucy.

As soon as the pictures are available we should be able to add some here.
